That part of your skepticism is completely understandable, unless you’ve met Pete.

Between the note-perfect details on the sets and the weapons and things to the way we all really became our characters . . . we all did it, from Pete and the actors to the people at WETA. We all believed. Look at Viggo . . . I’ve never seen anything like him. Sometimes I wasn’t sure who I was talking to and I would have been ready to swear that Aragorn walked around on this earth. And with all that, with all of us . . . somehow, it was enough.”
